Description: Exploring Geometry: Designing Quilts from Shape & Structure
In this 5-day workshop, participants will explore geometry as a creative tool for designing original quilts. Using simple shapes, guided prompts, and hands-on experimentation, students will design and sew a unique quilt or small series of quilts—without patterns.
This process-first class focuses on shape, scale, repetition, color, and intentional rule-breaking. Quilters of all experience levels are encouraged to participate; basic sewing skills are required and curiosity and a willingness to explore are essential.
Participants will leave with a finished quilt top or series, a repeatable design process, and greater confidence designing from their own ideas.
