Description: Y-Seams, Not Cry Seams
In this skill-builder class Libs Elliott will teach you how to piece hexagon blocks together with two different Y-seam methods. Libs will guide you in troubleshooting common Y-seam piecing issues. The Mini Y-Seams pattern includes hexagons, half hexes, equilateral triangles and diamond blocks. You’ll spend the class making the Mini Y-Seams quilt your very own by customising it with your selection of solids and/or print fabrics. This project measures approx. 18” x 20” so it’s perfect for a cushion cover or wall-hanging.

August 1, 2026 • 9:30am - 4:30pm
Length: 1 Day
Category: Modern Quilting
Level: All Abilities
Description: Embrace The Chaos
Using only paper and pencils - no computers required! - Libs will walk you through a series of worksheet exercises that mimic the programming language that she uses to generate her quilt patterns. By using controlled elements in a random way, each participant will end up with a unique quilt pattern layout - no two Chaos Quilts are the same!
As a group, you’ll discuss design flow and tweak your individual layout. Then you’ll cut fabrics and work on piecing your 30" x 30" or 40" x 40" quilt design, using provided block-building instructions. At the end of the class, you will leave with your own random geometric quilt design and will have the knowledge required to complete the project at home.
